Long arm Machine Quilting by Suzie Berberich
It been 6 years! Time sure flies when you're having fun.
Some of my wonderful customers are now quilting friends.
I specialize in "Free hand" which means I am basically drawing with thread as I go. Using no computer and no rolled patterns. I love custom, and feel it's what I do best.
Over 90% of my customers request it.
I do have dozens of pantograph designs if you prefer the allover look of repeated rows of the same pattern design.
Samples of both are available to see and touch in my beautiful spacious studio,
as well as a photo book full of ideas, and quilts I have finished for others.
Pricing
I am reliable and affordable.
I charge by the square inch. .0135 cents.
This means if your quilt top is 70x90 then there are 6300 square inches.
Multiply that by your price per square inch or 6300 x.0135 equals your quilting fee
About $85.00 If you would like to add a simple border, or other deigns my custom starts at .0150 and may go as high as .020-.050 per square inch.
It really depends on how long the planning, marking, and quilting will take. How difficult the design, how close or intense the quilting, how much thread is used, what kind, and how long it will be on my machine table. It may take days or even more than a week. Turning the quilt to achieve border designs take longer as well.
Pantographs start at .016 and can go as high as .040 cents per square inch.
You may choose the simplest meanders to the most filling heirloom type quilting that may be stitch in the ditch, feathers, echo, and fills of kinds.
I do have a starting minimum of $45.
My machine is a Gammill Classic plus with stitch regulator. My table is 12 feet. Do not assemble the quilt with pins or sprays of any kind! Layers must be separate to load.
I would be happy to quilt up your fabric yardage for your pre-garment projects. You then cut out your pattern pieces for clothing. A great stress and time saver!
Preparation work is extra
Piecing and pressing backings, securing loose seams, trimming off leftovers. This is generally $10-$20 per hour.
Some $$ saving things to do before you arrive:
* Clip stray seam threads, secure seams
* Are your top and backing square and edges straight and even?
* Batting and backing should be larger on ALL sides by 5-8 inches.
I have over 200 thread colors to choose from.
I charge for thread on all custom work.
Specialty thread is 10% more.
Top and bobbin changes are extra as well as excessive stops and starts.
Please allow time for me to do a great job. There will be several quilts ahead of you. I will rush for a fee. This means doing yours now while others wait. Remember, extra picky=extra pricey!
Thank you for choosing me to finish your lovely quilt. I will treat it as my own.
